  • You Probably Experience the Coriolis Effect Every Day

    ToiletThe Coriolis Effect

Without knowing it, you probably experience the Coriolis Effect every day while going through your normal routines.

Whether you are in the northern hemisphere or the southern hemisphere, water flowing in large volume circulates in a certain direction due to the motion and axis of the earth.

This affects water, clouds, wind.  Generally, because of the small volume, it doesn’t affect water in sinks, bath tubs, or toilets.

But doesn’t it affect toilets also?

No, generally the flow in toilets is determined by the physical valve structure of the flush routine which “forces” the water in a certain direction.

  • Government White House Suppression of the Free Press

    UPDATE:

White House releases doctored video of the actual press conference.  The doctored video came from a right wing conspiracy non-government website.  Also, the audio has cleverly been removed in the tweet from Sarah Sanders which makes the edit and speed up/down very visible when viewed side by side. First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Unfortunately, even ordinary citizens have a problem with the free press.  Here is one woman’s angry response towards CNN during a Tampa, Florida, rally on July 31, 2018.

  • Trump Supporters are Leaving the Fold

    Leaving
    … people leaving…

A solid base is now eroding.

“You’re essentially putting Russia first,” said Chris Ford, 26, a Republican in Dallas, tweaking a president who already had only his “lukewarm” support, as of this week. “It’s hard to see how that’s putting America first.” [1]

Voters seemed to prefer a stronger stance against Russia.

“We should stand our ground,” said Jimmy Treece, a retired construction worker and Trump supporter waiting for a bus in Carlisle, Pa. “There is clearly something wrong here.” [1]

Louis Ballard, of Bardstown, Ky., said he had grown disaffected with the Republican Party after decades of support. [1]

Beacons may help direct customers to your location.

Gosh, another buzzword from the Internet that I need to know about.

If you are a business that uses a specific location that you wish your customers knew about, you do indeed need to know about “Beacons“.

Beacons are the process by which you can share your location to other Internet and cell phone users.  Advertisers may want to display coupons when users are near their restaurant.
