  • Obama is More Popular on Twitter Then Trump

    It’s all about numbers.  President Barack Obama out shines Trump on one of the most popular social media platforms.

    Obama is galactically popular on Twitter but has been reserved in his use of social media.  With 103 million Twitter followers, Obama has near twice as many as Trump’s 53 million as of June, 2018. [1]

  • Terry Pochert – Speech Contest – 1966

    Takes Second Place in Speech Contest

    Terry PochertTerry Pochert of Harbor Beach won second place in the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah district one speech contest in Deckerville Saturday night.  Winner of the contest will leave on a pilgrimage to the United Nations.  Last Year’s winner of the contest was Judy Scott of Harbor Beach.

    John Currie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Currie, Harbor Beach, won first place in the contest in Harbor Beach last Wednesday night, but was unable to compete in the final contest at Deckerville because he has been chosen to be a foreign exchange student who will visit a foreign country this year.

    Pochert won second place in Harbor Beach.  Judges of the contest in Harbor Beach were Major Edward Jerome, Raymond Weikart, English teacher at Harbor Beach Community school and David Wallace, speech teacher at the school.

    Speech subject was “What the United Nations Means To Me.”

    As of June 2018, it looks like YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat are tops on the list.  Facebook is no longer the social media of choice for teenagers and young adults. [1]

    Do I give up on Facebook?
